How to make Crispy Namak Pare (Khari Shankarpali)…

My kids favourite snack Namak pare (Khari Shankarpali ) .

It is easy to make, crispy snack recipe. Make and enjoy with cup of tea.

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup All purpose flour (Maida)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water as required

Method:

  1. Take all purpose flour, cumin seeds, black pepper powder and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add oil, Mix well till get crumbly texture.
  3. Now add little water at a time and start kneading the dough. Dough should not be too tight or soft.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  6. Other side heat the oil in a pan on slow or medium heat for frying namak pare.
  7. Once again knee the dough. Divide it and make big circle with rolling pin.

  9. Cut into diamond or square shape using cutter or knife.

  11. Keep pieces on dry cloth.

  13. Fry till it become golden brown on slow flame.

  15. Then can keep in a airtight container.
  16. Enjoy with tea !!!!!

How to make Eggless Banana Cake

Ripe bananas can make a very yummy, light and spongy Banana Cake. A very ripe banana can be used as a substitute for an egg.

It is very easy to make. It is a very good snack for kids or can be accompany with a cup of tea.. ..

Ingredients :

  • 1 and 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3rd cup oil or melted butter
  • 4 medium sized ripe bananas
  • Pinch of  Salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 drops of red food colouring  (Optional)
  • Powder sugar for decoration only.

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven at 170 to 180 degree C.
  2. You can use mixer grinder or hand blender to blend all the ingredients quick and easily.
  3. Peel and chop bananas and add it in to a blender.
  4. Add sugar, oil and vanilla essence. Make a smooth paste.
  5. Sieve all dry ingredients. All purpose flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda and Salt.
  6. Now in a bigger bowl add dry ingredients into wet ingredients in a small batch.  Mix with cut and fold method.
  7. Add red colour drops. Mix well. cake 1
  8. Grease a 8” Baking tray with oil. Place butter paper/ parchment paper on the bottom of the tray or dust with flour.
  9. Pour the batter and tap gently to remove air bubbles.
  10. Place the tray inside an oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.cake2
  11. To check if it is cooked, insert a tooth pick and it should come out clean.
  12. Let it cool. Dust icing sugar.cake3
