It is a Maharashtrian spicy, mouthwatering breakfast dish as well as a street food of Mumbai. Its a one pot meal and is easy to make. This misal curry can be made with moth bean, moong, green peas or white peas and it served with Ladi Pav Buns.
Recipe with step by step pictures as follows :
Ingredients :
For Misal:
1 cup Moth Bean (Sprouted)
2 tbsp Oil
Pinch of Asafoetida
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 Medium sized Onion
1 small Tomato
1/2 tsp Green Chilli Paste
1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
1 and 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1/2 cup Grated Coconut (Dry/ Fresh)
1 tsp Tamarind Pulp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish.
For Serving:
10 to 12 Pav / Bread slices
1 cup Finely copped onion
1 cup Farsaan
Lemon wedges
1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
Method of sprouting moth bean:
Soak moth bean in sufficient water for 7 to 8 hours.
Remove them in a cotton cloth and keep for again 7 to 8 hours.
Method of making Moth bean Curry:
In a small pan dry roast coconut on slow flame. After cooling down grind in a smooth paste and keep aside.
I made this curry in a Pressure cooker.
Heat oil, and add asafoetida and cumin seeds. After cumin seeds changed colour add chopped onion and saute till it become golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste and saute it.
Add finely chopped tomato, red chilli Powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt to taste and mix well.
Roast till it seperates from the oil at the sides of the pot. Add the sprouted moth beans and mix well.
Add 1 cup water and close the lid of cooker. Take 2 whistle and switch off the gas.
After opening the lid of the cooker add tamarind pulp, garam masala powder, coconut paste and simmer on slow flame.
Add enough water to make a thin curry. Adjust spices asper your taste.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Method of Serving Misal Pav:
Take Misal Curry in a deep bowl.
Add chopped onions and coriander leaves.
Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice.
Add farsaan on top.
Serve with copped onions, lemon wedge and Ladi pav.

Chakli is a favoured snack and is simple to make.. It’s popular savory snack usually made during Diwali. You need to make bhajani flour before making chakli. I used readymade bhajani flour which is available in markets.
Ingredients :
1 Cup Bhajani flour
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/4th tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Sesame Seeds
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
1 tsp Carom seeds
1 tsp Oil
1 Cup Water
Salt to taste
Oil for Frying
Method:
In the heavy bottom pan add water, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, sesame seeds, cumin Seeds, carom seeds, salt and oil.
Mix well and bring the mixture to a boil and then switch off the flame.
Now add bhajani flour to the mixture and mix well.
Let it cool down for 30 minutes.
Now knead the dough well with your hands. Don’t add too much water while kneading the dough.
Now take chakli mold and apply some water inside the mold. Stuff the dough into the maker.
Make chakali on foil in circular direction and close both the ends.
Deep fry the chakli in oil on medium or low flame on both the sides.
Crispy and spicy Chakli is ready to enjoy!!!

This is my first post and want to start with some sweet to add on my blog. Everyones all time favourite Suji Halwa is a very quick and easy dessert to make. It is made on auspicious occasions like Satyanarayan pooja.
My kids loved it and demand me to make it again and again. Here is the recipe want to share with u all…
Ingredients :
1 cup suji (semolina)
1 cup ghee
1 cup sugar
1 cup hot milk
1 cup hot water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 cup chopped nuts like cashews and almonds
Some Raisins
Method:
Boil milk and water, and keep aside.
Heat ghee in a pan on slow flame.
Add suji and roast till it change its colour to light golden brown.
In that add crushed nuts and roast for a min.
Its time to pour hot milk and hot water carefully as it splutters. Add more hot water if required.
Mix well and let it simmer for 1-2 min.
Suji will soak all the water.
Now add sugar and mix well till it leave the edge of the pan.
Finally add cardamom powder and raisins.
Keep for some time then serve.
Perfect Satyanarayan Prasad Suji Halwa is ready….enjoy!!!
